When I started Deviant Art, I was just starting high school and like any kid, doodled in class. Art has been my hobby since the 1st grade. I drew a rattlesnake for this contest from this national park my school trip went to which was next to my house at the time and the rangers ask us to draw something we saw while on the trail. And somehow I won and that kinda pushed me to draw more.
I never really made OC's until I was in my sophomore year in high school. I had these group of friends who introduced me to RPing and we would pass notes/replies between classes or in class if we were in the same one. The same friends actually help me made my first account on here. (Yes, this is my third account on here. I was a huge bitch when I was in high school and got into a lot of fights with everyone. DON'T WORRY!! It was all verbally )
So after maybe.. five to six years, where we are. My third and hopefully final account. I've meet soo many wonderful people here and have grown as a hobbyist and a person. Down below are the five pieces of my art that I believe helped me grow as an artist.
This was my first coloring of Rosebud EVER. At the time, I was really hard on myself about coloring because I would smear it or make the colors wrong. But this came out great and it boosted my coloring abilities, thought I didn't do it often.
My first digital Drawing I had help thanks to a certain friend of mine. It was hard, since I didn't have a tablet and still don't. I used everything on my laptop mouse pad. Yup that's my secret. Now you know and knowing is half the battle.
I don't do just drawing. Photography is also a hobby of mine. This was one of my projects in my senior photography class. I love the simplicity of it, and it helped me grow as a digital artist.
Alright this is one of my personal faves. I didn't have ANY references poses for this one and it turned out AWESOME. Eventually I'll do it digitally, but I don't know. I love it the way it is so far .
Remember how I said I had doubts of being a decent colorist? Yeah well, with help from another friend, I began to practice with lineart and eventually using the paintSAI program. It was hard but the practice did work out. This was my first result and I absolutely love how it came out.
My final artwork I'm showing is one of my recent favorites. It does show how much I have grown as a colorist and a digital artist. To some, it isn't much. But for me. It means a whole lot.
Happy 14th birthday DeviantArt! Thank you for all the memories, stories, and art progress!
